2001-2002 Notes
Congratulations to Brandon Cloyne, GTHSHL player of the year and first-team all-league forward. Also, to Nik Davenport (2nd team all-league forward), and Chip Mullholand, Andy Ledford, and Ryan Lawlor (all-league honorable mention)
In Lake's final game of the season, Brandon Cloyne broke two school records, scoring nine goals and adding two assists. Cloyne broke Nick Novinsky's 1999 record of 8 goals in a game and Brian Wilhelm's 1991-92 record of 90 points in a season. Cloyne's 11-point game gave him 97 points for the season.
State Playoff Information
All 67 Ohio varsity hockey teams play in the same division per OHSAA rules. There must be 250 teams in a sport before a second division can be added.
1st Round - Lake defeated Ottawa Hills 6-4. The Flyers had lost to the Green Bears twice this season, but played one of their best games of the year.
2nd Round - Lake lost to the Findlay Trojans 12-3. This is the first time in recent history that the Flyers went all three period against one of the top-ranked teams in the state. The Flyers fought back from a 5-0 deficit to come within two goals of Findlay.
Brandon Cloyne broke Nick Novinsky's (1998-1999) school record, of 50 goals in a season on Saturday vs Fremont, scoring 3 goals. Cloyne has 53 for the season. Novinsky broke Brian Wilhelm's record of 49 set in 1981-82.

The 2003-2004 Alumni game was palyed, Sunday December 14 at the Toledo Sports Arena. 23 Lake alumni participated in the annual alumni game on 12/14/02 at the Sports Arena. Playing were Jeff Bobak, Tom LaPlante, Josh Ledford, Steve Sims, Nick Novinsky, Kevin Overmyer, Brad Steinhurst, Lance Crandall, Tim Marko, Rob Reiss, Chip Mullholand, Ron Mullholand, Evan Crandall, Dwight Aspacher, Al Aspacher, Tim Cahill, Bill Dieter, Matt LaPlante, Kurt Schwamberger, PJ Westrick, Brian Bostdorf, Tom Sautter, and Zach Vail. The Flyers thank them for their support!
