News!! The District 4 Big League State Champions will be interviewed on 92.5 FM, The Bear, Friday, August 8, at 9 pm. Tune in to listen to the interview! The local All Star Team representing Georgia District 4 Big League Baseball completed a run in the tournament by winning the District Championship against West Point, Georgia in a best of three series. They followed that up by winning the Georgia State Championship, defeating Georgia District 7 by a score of 21 – 5 in the finals. The following 16 players represented the counties of Fayette, Coweta, Spalding and Fulton: Derek Abrams, Randy Beadling, Sam Mittleman, Eric Schroder, Jason Allen, Steven Davis, Casey McDonald, Drew Provence, Eddie Storm, Matt Harmon, Joseph Johnson, Scott Lanier, Aaron Patten, Stephen Pope, Jesse Amtmann and Taylor Mathusek. They were Managed by Gary Snider and coached by Ralph Storm, Tommy Thomas, and Rick Ferguson. The Georgia State Champs traveled to Ft. Lauderdale, FL to participate in the Southern Region Big League Baseball Tournament July 18 - 20 against teams representing Tennessee, Florida, Virginia, South Carolina and West Virginia. The team lost the first game 8 - 4 to Tennessee and the second 5 - 2 to a very good Florida team from Tampa. District 4 came back to beat West Virginia 11 - 6 in the last game of pool play, but was unable to move on as West Virginia and Florida competed in the Semi Finals from Pool A when a three way tie for second in the pool came down to a formula where they were two runs short for the tournament. Big League Baseball is gearing up for their fall league by putting on an open U18 Wood Bat Tournament September 12 -14 at Peachtree City BSC. Fall league games will begin September 21. Friday, August 8 The Perfect Scrimmage
Little League District 4 was invited to participate in a promotional scrimmage for the movie THE PERFECT GAME to be released by Liongate later this month. The movie is based on the story of the team from Mexico that won the 1957 Little League World Series, the first non-American team to do so. All participants received a tee shirt, movie passes and key rings from the agency representing Liongate.
The Perfect Scrimmage was held Saturday, August 2, at 6 PM at the Baseball and Soccer Complex in Peachtree City. Peachtree City Little League was represented by; Tommy Metzger, Van Neeley, Drew Van de Motter, Chris Consolino, Ben and Travis Kuebler, Vincent Tripi, Trey Williams, and Anthony Pruner. Senoia Little League was represented by Andrew Brown, Dylan Faison, Jesse Lowe, Graden Treadwell and Moreland McLeod. Representing Brooks was Cody Simmons, Tyler and Chandler Perdue, Alex Freeman, Dakota Goodman and Jordan Holmes. Coaches were also a representation of District 4 with Chris Neeley managing the winning team along with Joe Kuebler and Phil Consolino. The opposing team was managed by Donnie Simmons with Kirt Perdue and Micah Goodman. Randy Summerlin volunteered to umpire. The boys played “Sandlot” rules, choosing captains who then chose their teams. The first attempt at The Perfect Scrimmage was Thursday, August 31, but that attempt was rained out in the bottom of the first inning with a score of 5 - 0. Saturday both teams chose a fresh start with no score. The team with no score on Thursday wound up winning 5 - 4 on Saturday. Saturday, July 19 District 4 7/8 Baseball Champions

Peachtree City National Little League is the District 4 10/11 Champion for 2008. They will represent our district at the State Tournament at Murphey Candler Little League beginning July 12.
