10 and under All-Star Team Receives Don Rose Sr. Sportsmanship Award
This year at the ALL Star State Tournament a new award was given out to each age division. The State Commisioner Don Rose Sr. observed all the different teams playing and awarded the 10u New Kent All Star Team the Don Rose Sr. Sportsmanship Award. He commented on how proud he was of the New Kent 10u team and how they played the game with competitiveness and sportsmanship.
Congradulations 10u All Star Players, Coaches, and Parents you are awesome. Good luck in Regionals.

Yearly Open Board Meeting
Tommorow Wednesday 7/31/08 at 6:30pm at the old Courthouse Building we will be holding our yearly open Board Meeting. This meeting will start promptly at 6:30 and should take less than an hour. We will be voting on New Board Memeber positions for the 2008/2009 season. Anyone that has a child currently playing in the league is encouraged to attend the meeting. Will will have a brief open discussion after the voting has been completed. This is an oppourtunity to discuss ideas/suggestions or future plans for New Kent Girls Softball.
Any complaints either about the league/members/coaches etc. should still be presented to the board in the form of a written letter. No comments/decsions about complaints will be openly discussed at this meeting.

Registration for 2008 Fall Ball is underway; please note there are 2 dates were you can register in person; or you can mail your registration to the New Kent Girls Softball P.O. Box 686, Quinton VA 23141.

2008 Fall Ball Registration
2008 Fall Ball Registration will be on the following dates:
Wednesday July 23rd from 6pm-8pm (Woodhave Shores Field)
and Saturday August 2nd from 10am-noon (Woodhave shores Field)
All the information for this season has not been sent to the league from ODGSL. In the past we start playing games the weekend after Labor Day, they have always been double header games every Sunday afternoon, for 6-8 weeks. The girls normally will practice 1-2 times a week depending on the coach/team. Your child will be placed on a team based on her age for next spring season. Fall Ball is a good way to prepare your child for the next age division, Fall Ball is normally a little slower pace & a little more relaxed than Spring Ball it is mainly in place to help the girls practice and prepare for the next season.
The Fall Ball Registration form will be updated on this website by this Monday July 14th.
You can either mail in your registration or sign up in person at one of the 2 dates above, any registrations received after 8/3/08 will be charged a $20.00 late Fee. Please call or email if you have additional questions. Dwaynemichelle@verizon.net

Reporting an incident
If you have an incident to report where you suspect someone has violated the Codes of Conduct, please refer to the Disciplinary Guide for instruction on how to report such an incident. Below are brief instructions. The Codes of Conduct and Disciplinary Guide can be downloaded from the home page of this site as you scroll down the front page.
"In the event a situation arises that any member of the NKGSL suspects the Codes of Conduct have been violated by a Board Member, Coach, Player or Parent, a written complaint must be generated to the NKGSL Board via the president of the Board."
"The written complaint must include the details of the violation(s) and name all persons involved or affected by the violation."
