Friday, September 12 FALL BALL REGISTRATION NVLL is having Fall Ball this year. The program is strictly instructional and will serve as a good learning tool for the 2009 season. We will have instruction for minor, major and junior baseball and minor and major softball. Registration will take place at the Snack Bar and is limited to the dates noted below (late sign-ups will not be accepted). Monday, September 15 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Minor Baseball and Softball Wednesday, September 17 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Minor, Major and Junior Baseball Wednesday, September 17 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Minor and Major Softball Additional details will be available at registration, but it looks like we will have games on Sunday afternoons and a couple of week nights. We are hoping to start practices as soon as possible. Games will begin in early October and should go for at least 8 weeks. The cost will be between $100 and $120 per child and will include a t-shirt/jersey and a ball cap. If you have any questions, please contact James Altman via e-mail (fireman044@msn.com).
North Venice Does Well at Dodger Stadium North Venice was well-represented at Dodger Stadium for the MLB team competition of Pitch, Hit and Run. After winning three of the four age groups at the sectional level, NVLL'ers all had scores high enough to advance to the team competition. Competing against kids from as far away as Henderson, Nevada, all three players posted their highest total score ever, when it mattered most. Nolan Sax won the 13-14 year old division, Kevin Nugent took second place in the 11-12 year old division, and Kyle Brisacher won the 9-10 year old division. Nationwide, over 600,000 kids competed in Pitch, Hit and Run, with only 120 earning the right to compete at major league parks. Congratulations, Nolan, Kevin, and Kyle! Tuesday, June 17 A Banner Year for North Venice
North Venice brought home banners in four out of eight divisions in softball and baseball in District 25. Softball swept three age groups (9-10, 11-12 and 13-14), and 9-10 baseball won a highly competitive 12-team tournament. Also, the 10-11 and 13-14 baseball teams made the final games of their brackets. Pictures of 9-10 baseball have been posted under "albums." If you have pictures from any of the softball teams, please post them as well. It's easy! Sectional tournaments are underway, and all of the teams are hoping to keep playing as long as possible.
