RUN Series Update
This spring Paramount started a RUN series and since there were so many great races coming up, we've decided to continue it through the summer and into the fall. There were a bunch of races which many of our members usually do every year, so we thought it would be great to incorporate them into a series so that we could all run together. Well, that and the fact that we're all type A's...we can't do anything unless there's competition involved.
The SERIES:
This is the finalized Pace RUN series races, similar to PACE triathlons.
How does it work?
- Look at the races in the series, signup for the ones you want to race, show up and run.
- You'll get points assigned for the place you finish (finish place/ Total participants). And, the scores are graded based on the distance of the race...5k's are 95%, 10k's are 97.5%, Half marathons are 100%, Marathons are 105%
- The leader of the series (male and female) gets a spiffy prize at the annual picnic AND bragging rights as the fastest Paramounter! (did I just make up a word?)
So, take a look at the sheet for current standings and upcoming races. let me know if you have any questions.

PACE Series Update
Mooseman was this past weekend, and even up in New Hampshire, Paramount was well represented. Billyo did the Olympic distance and I'm not sure if it was the altitude, or if we need to test him for performance enhancing drugs, but he kicked some serious butt up there. Out of 570 racers, he came in 47th overall. Mostly due to placing 19th on the 0.9m swim (21:13) and 25th on the 10k run (39:23). Now if only he could ride a bike.... Mike Shannon was also up there as a pre-cursor to Lake Placid, competing in sunday's Half Iron Distance race. Mike put out a great swim, coming in the top 100, and finished with a very mean 5:10. Cherri Marcinko also did the Half-Iron and finished 44th female overall and 11th in her age group.

Free 5k and Free Beer
The first race will be Sneaker Factory's annual President's Cup 5k on Monday, June 19th. We will probably live to regret this, but Sneaker Factory has offered Paramount members $5 off their entry fee, so let's go all-out here - Paramount will pick up the difference for all current members that want to race. That's right, a FREE 5K RACE. This race is sponsored by Sam Adams, and they wheel up the trucks for all you can drink afterwards!! So that's a FREE 5K, with FREE BEER afterwards. To take advantage, print this application, fill it out, and bring it
to the Happy Hour tonight or mail to PO Box 417, Convent Station, NJ 07961.
We must receive your application by next Wednesday, June 14th, so get them
out ASAP!!

Randolph Triathlon
RANDOLPH TRI FLYER - See our NEW and IMPROVED Randolph Lake Triathlon flyer - we just cranked out 800 color copies on card stock. Once again, we all owe our thanks to Ralph Beiran for his great graphic design work. If you have access to a color printer, print out a bunch of double-sided copies, cut them in fourths, and litter your town with them!!! Just let us know which places (stores, gyms, Y's, etc) you cover so we don't trip over ourselves!
RANDOLPH TRI REGISTRATION - Remember that we have extended the early registration deadline to Friday, June 9th, so you can get your $10 entry discount until then. Get your entries in soon though, the field is limited to 350 and may sell out!!! We've had 56 registrations in the past 2 weeks alone! If anyone is interested in volunteering on race-day (July 9th),
please e-mail me, we'd love to have your help. If you're racing, we could also use some help setting up the course on Saturday, July 8th. If you're available, please let me know!
