Waldorf American Little League: Welcome
|
In Memory of Tom Morrison
URGENT NEWS...
It is with a heavy heart, shock and deep sadness that I report to everyone that tragically on Wednesday, May 7th, 2008, Tom Morrison, unexpectedly passed away. Tom was the President of Waldorf American Little League for many years. Tom was truly a dedicated "volunteer", more importantly though, he was our friend...Tom had a passion for the game of Baseball and Softball and the youngsters who played it, leaving behind a legion of former players who simply called him "Coach".
Please keep Tom's family in your thoughts and prayers.
All contributions may be made to:

1st Annual Memorial Day Tournament
Held at Robert D. Stethem Park, May 24th-26th, 2008 was a great success! We had 12 Major Baseball and 6 Junior Baseball teams from Charles, St. Mary's, Calvert, Prince George's and Montgomery Counties compete!
Waldorf American had 3 Major Baseball and 2 Junior Baseball teams entered. After the Pool Play games on Saturday and Sunday, the Major Baseball Angels finished at 3-1, the RedSox went 2-2 and the Tigers went 2-2. The Junior Baseball Royals finished 3-1 and the Indians went 2-2.
The Angels earned the #4 seed on tie-breakers. The Angels played the #1 seeded Calvert American team in the Semi-Final Game on Monday morning and came away with the victory! It was a very tense game and very well played. The Angels advanced to play the St. Mary's Indians for the Championship.
The Angels gave another superb effort in the Championship Game, but fell short in the end. The players, coaches and the fans gave it their all! What a great finish for the young Angels team, finishing as Runners-Up out of 12 teams!
--------------------------------------------
The Royals were tied with 1 other team at 3-1 and earned the #2 seed on tie-breakers. They played the St. Mary's team in the first Semi-Final Game and fell just short in the end. What a great showing by the Royals, finishing in 3rd place!
