www.eteamz.com

Hello eteamz fans,

A happy August to all of you. I'm sure many of you are preparing to pick up the pace as you head back to school and start your fall sports season. Very exciting.

Active is cutting my chain loose and sending me away from my computer. We hoo! I'm heading out to the Little League World Series, which is August 15-24. If you plan to attend, be sure to stop by the Little League Network trailer. Check out www.littleleague.org for updates on the series.

On another note...almost a year ago I began eating a PowerBar and banana for breakfast on a regular basis. Before that, I never really ate breakfast. Of course I stuck to my vice, Diet Coke, but that was about it. Since I've started my new habit, my metabolism and overall fitness level have never been better (with regular exercise).

What am I getting at, you ask? Well, I think PowerBar has a truly great product and they want to get the eteamz community involved. The PowerBar team has come out with a new product called Energy Bites. They are currently inviting all eteamz basketball and football teams to take a shot at becoming one of their brand ambassadors. If those are one of your sports, I encourage you to check out more information at www.eteamz.com/powerbar.

Be sure to check out the new eteamz Snap Shotz program below. Send in favorite pics from your team or league for possible publication on eteamz.com.

    eteamz Updates

eScoutz Coming Soon - By popular demand eteamz is launching a new online community for Scouting. We're referring to the camping kind of Scouting, not recruiting. There is a very large worldwide Scouting community, which will soon have all the great services and features currently available for participatory sports through eteamz.com.

If you're involved in Scouting, check out www.escoutz.com later this month. Please tell your fellow Scout leaders about the new community so they can get a Scout web site for their troop or pack.

Site Templates - PLUS members may now choose a new look for your site. We have launched the first of several new upcoming site templates. Go to the Site Templates section of the Admin Display folder and choose Modern PLUS to get the new template. Click here to check out a sample.

TB Pro - With this downloadable software, you can easily build tournament brackets and pools. To purchase, go to www.activesportsshed.com and type Tournament Builder in the quick search box.

    • See, edit, update, post and print brackets for up to 128 teams in single or double elimination and consolation play, plus up to 512 teams for pool play.

    • Post tournament files directly to the News section/home page of your eteamz.com web site for everyone involved in your event to see. Visitors can check out schedules, standings, and results with just a few clicks of the mouse.

    • Print single sheet handouts and wall-sized bracket posters, as well as a wide variety of tournament forms.
Congrats to the Giants - June eteamz All-Stars winners, the Alabama Giants, placed 2nd at the 2003 USSSA World Series! They faced some of the best teams they had seen all year. Way to go!

Hello sports fans! I hope you enjoy your last few weeks of summer. It's one of my favorite times during the summer, the Little League Baseball World Series. Representatives from Active (including Rob) will be there all week, ready for your questions and handing out the famous pins. I'll be there Saturday and Sunday for the Championship games. Be sure to check next month's newsletter for pictures.

Our top site related question is changing email addresses (your own and the member's of your site). Click here for instructions on updating your account information (while you're there be sure you create a Security Question).

If your members are listed as Invited in your Access folder, you can click the pencil icon to the right of their name and change the email address. If they are listed as a Member, they need to make the change online.

We've also received a lot of questions regarding transferring sites. If you're a Head Webmaster and you'd like to transfer your site to the new Team Admin/Coach/Manager, click here for instructions.

Check out these cool sites I came across:

Look out...your site may be next.

With fall quickly approaching football fans are gearing up for the season, stocking their refrigerators with soda pop and preparing chips and dip. Will the Ohio State Buckeyes and Tampa Bay Buccaneers repeat? Click here to take a poll.

Tackling and Injury Tackling and Injury

Fall is fast approaching, which brings a very busy season of Soccer. Be prepared.

More injuries occur during tackling than during any other activity. Wonder why? It could be poor skill. Some people think tackling is something innate in a player; you either are or are not a good tackler. So, coaches who think this probably spend little time teaching and practicing the skill of tackling. Big mistake. More...

Powder Springs Indians The Powder Spring Indians have won back to back Shetland Pony State Championships (2002 and 2003). A message from the coach is below.

Congratulation Indians, you're the 2003 Shetland Pony State Champions! Indians, as a team we knew it would not come easy, becoming State Champs. We knew a lot of hard work was ahead of us. Many long hours of practice, throwing, catching fly balls, hitting and sometimes all in the rain. Indians, I'm proud of you all for making the sacrifice, the sacrifice that would earned you the title of Shetland Pony State Champions. This is a great accomplishment Indians one you will never forget. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with each of you. You are all very special children and I'm very happy to have been your coach. Indians, I have one request, keep working on fundamentals...it's the secret to becoming a better baseball player. Remember all of the pros do fundamentals...even T-drills. Thanks again Indians for a job well done. - Coach Jeff
